A New Adventure!!!

 Hello, my lovely friends!

What a week!

First of all, Happy Father’s Day! I am so grateful for my dad and all he has taught me. I would not be who I am today without my dad. Thank you to all the wonderful fathers in the world!

This was our first full week here in Ramon and my first full week as an STL! It was a wonderful adventure. Sometimes it was a bit overwhelming, but I have learned so much and I cannot wait to learn more!

We started the week with MLC (Mission Leadership Council). It was great to be able to see my friends in the mission and also be able to better learn from our Mission President. MLC was in Cauayan so we got to travel and stay in a hotel, which was a fun adventure! However, I was excited to get back to our area and get to work!

Once we were able to get to work, this week was full of little miracles. Our area is a bit of a challenge, and since Sister Regorosa and I are both new to the area, we have been trying to find all the people who were being taught by the missionaries before. As we sought the help of God, we saw so many miracles.

One of these miracles happened as we were exploring a new area. We were trying to find one of the people that was taught before, and we knocked on a door and had the opportunity to teach three siblings. They were so receptive and wanted to learn more. When we gave them a Book of Mormon, they promised to read it every day and they accepted an invitation to come to church. It was a miracle! I am so grateful to be able to see people have a desire to come closer to Christ and be willing to make changes in their lives.

Another miracle happened as we were trying to meet with another person who had been taught by the missionaries. We found her house, but there was no one home. At this point, it was sooooo hot outside and it was a bit discouraging as it was the second time we had tried to meet with this particular sister. However, as we walked around the corner, we stopped at a little tindahan (store) and met a sweet mother. She listened to our message and asked questions. She also has a sincere desire to learn more. Even though our original plan did not work out, God directed our paths to meet the people we needed to meet.

This week's miracles were mostly as we found people to teach. We have basically started over in this area, but I have found as we truly try and love the people as Jesus loves them, we have found the people who want to know Christ better in their lives.

Other miracles included:

-Members working with us and helping us meet people!

-Some of our new friends came to church!!

-Getting a water filter (yay clean water!!)

-Making cookies in our neighbor's air fryer!

-Being absolutely united with my companion and loving the work! We are a newly formed companionship, so working together so fluently is a miracle!

I feel so blessed with my new area. I love my companion and I am learning so much about teaching with the spirit. I feel like I am really growing and stretching. Even when the area is a little hard sometimes, I am so grateful for it, and I love it more every day.

This new adventure has been a testimony to me that God is aware of exactly what we need. Even when we do not know what we need, He knows exactly what we need. God is the perfect example of a loving Father.

One of my favorite verses in the Book of Mormon is 1 Nephi 3:7, It says:

“And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.”

God is our Father. He wants what is best for us. He wants us to learn and grow and become like Him. I love this verse because it says that God gives us commandments, and then He provides a way. As our Loving Heavenly Father, He will help us accomplish what He has asked us to do. I am seeing this happening in my area.

I am also grateful for my father here on earth who always tries to follow our Heavenly Father’s example! He shows so much love and support to me! And I am so grateful! Thanks, Dad. I love you!

I am so grateful for my mission. I am loving my time in the Philippines. I love sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that God loves us, and He wants us to return to Him! I was able to finish the Book of Mormon this week and I am just overwhelmed by the evidence of God’s love for all of us. He truly is the perfect Father.

I love you all! I hope you have another great week!

The church is true, God loves you!

Be happy, Be brave, Be smart,

Love,

Sister Miller
